• The Cliffside Welcome Jam
  This gathering will be hosted by Negril Escape Resort and Spa, the hub of The Ripple Effect CHNY2k9.  CHNY musicians will lead an acoustic jam session as we toast our arrival, kick off The Ripple Effect with intention, meet old friends, and greet new ones.

  You won't want to miss this invaluable gathering chock full of vital information about the week's events. Join us at Negril Escape Resort and Spa for a tropical fruit buffet and mimosas. Be introduced to some of our local friends, get the scoop on local cool cottage businesses, learn about excursion options, get informed on the week's upcoming adventures, and receive updates to the schedule. • 2nd Annual Friends of The West End Kids Fair
  This fantastic free community event is not to be missed.  The goal of the Friends of The West End Kids Fair is to expose the local neighborhood children and their caregivers to art, music, and play activities. There are approximately 300 children living in the impoverished Divers Village Community. This is an incredible opportunity to encourage the community to come together with our guests to use available resources and creativity to open the world of their children through art, music, and play. We will kick off the event by running a dragon parade through the neighborhood and drawing the children out of their homes.  The Ripple Effect CHNY2k9 musicians will play music for the children. Enjoy art activities, drumming, musical instrument clinics, sports and games, and much, much more!  Past activities include kids tattoos, hulahooping, tiedye, painting, soccer, drumming, harmonica lessons, boomerang, frisbee, Kazoo the Clown, and more.  The event is all volunteer and local businesses are encouraged to participate through the donation of supplies, beverages, and snacks for the children. • Reggae 'pon di Rocks Concert has been moved to Thursday 1/29 and has combined with the Love in the Yard party
  
  

• New Moon Pickin' Party
  This once in a lifetime event will be held on a pristine private beach cove.  The adventure begins mid-afternoon and goes late into the night. For those in the accommodations package, you will arrive via catamaran.  All others will arrive by shuttle.  In this stunning blue lagoon with a miniature island you can swim to, we will swim, snorkel, relax in hammocks, wander the property, and bask in the sunshine.  To celebrate the Chinese New Year there will be lots of fire to burn the old and dream in the new.  A giant Ox made of wood will be burned in a ceremony honoring the Year of the Ox. Several campfire stages will be set up around the property for jamming that feature The Ripple Effect CHNY2k9 musicians.  We will have a designated open mike stage for guests who wish to join in on the jam. There will be shuttles running back to Negril when people are ready to go home. A sunset dinner buffet and open bar are included.

• The Big Time Jammy
  This evening event was born from the original CHNY event.  This extravagant event on the Negril Escape Resort and Spa stage features an all-star line up including:

For those who wish to venture into the Divers Village Community for an authentic Jamaican experience, guests are encouraged to attend the annual Positive Vibrations Bingo Party in Elvis and Laura's yard.  This is not a CHNY sponsored event and tickets can be purchased at the Orientation or at the door.  Homemade Jamaican cuisine and cash bar are available for purchase.  There will be live music, a Jamaican DJ, local arts & crafts for sale, Fireman's shell game, and of course.....Bingo!

• Concert at West Haven Children's Home for the Disabled
  DeepBlueRipple conducts year-round programs with West Haven to infuse art, music, and play into the lives of the 80 wonderful residents who live there.  These incredible children gift us with an opportunity to remember that the most important thing in life is building connections with others.  For this heartwarming and powerful experience we will travel deep into the mountains of rural Jamaica. The Ripple Effect CHNY2k9 musicians will return to West Haven to play music, love, laugh, and celebrate the healing power of community.  This year we open the experience to interested guests.  Visit www.westhaven.hazenhunter.com to meet the children of West Haven. • Roskind Journey Into One Love
  Participate in the first reunion of all the elders from the Roskinds' book RastaHeart.  Jamaican politicians, media, peacemakers, and residents will be coming from all over the island to participate in this incredible event that kicks off an intensive weekend of Reasonings with the Jamaican people.  Live music by Laura Reed & Deep Pocket and other special guests.  This event will be held at Negril Escape Resort & Spa

• Full day Roskind One Love Reasoning Seminars. Any of our guests are welcome to stay and attend for free.  The topics of the Reasonings will be the same as those offered to our guests throughout the week of The Ripple Effect CHNY2k9.  If you missed them and/or wish to immerse yourself in a truly Jamaican event please come! On Sunday, Feb 1st the Roskinds will hand the facilitation of the Reasonings  over to Jamaicans to facilitate an all day event of their own design. The time and topics are TBA
