Due to Jamaica's financial situation, public schools in Jamaica are restricted in the amount of money they can allocate towards educational materials. With such limited resources, school libraries cannot stock their shelves. Thus, many Jamaican children have extremely limited access to reading materials.  In addition, the lack of funding in schools limits student access to musical instruments and art supplies. 

Thus, for the last 6 years CHNY has requested that all participants bring two gently used books that influenced them as a child and a book bag filled with school and art supplies. Over the past six years we have contributed hundreds of educational books to schools in both urban and rural settings. In past years we distributed over 150 backpacks full of school and art supplies to children in the Jamaican community.  We are also honored to have had Rusea's High School in Lucea, Negril All-Ages School, and St. Paul's Primary School in Delveland as past recipients.  We are grateful to Justice of the Peace, Lloyd Johnson of Hanover Parish and the many CHNY participants who have given time, energy, and money in support of our program.

We are in the process of filing DeepBlueRipple International, Inc.  as a nonprofit organization with the mission to:

Increase children's access to music, art, and play through travel, philanthropy, and fun.

Funding is needed to complete this process.
