About Negril, Jamaica

Negril is located at the western tip of Jamaica. It’s a wonderful place, full of sights to see and plenty to do, due to its spectacularly gorgeous location. The town boasts seven miles of white sand beach and four miles of stunning sea-cliffs. From either, you can see Negril's famous sunsets across a stretch of ocean that reaches to Mexico and Belize over 700 miles away! Negril is known for its laidback and festive atmosphere.

Most of the CHNY veterans will be staying at the far southern end of Cliffs Road between the lighthouse and the Blue Cave Castle. Read More

There are only 3 roads that access Negril, the Norman Manley road (beach, 7miles), West End road (cliffs, 3.5miles), and the inland road to Sav-La-Mar. They all meet at "the roundabout" in the center of Negril (keep in mind that the roundabout goes clockwise).

The word Cliffs might conger up images of high-diving Acapulco Cliffs... Untrue. Negril's cliffs range from three to fifty feet out of the water. Hotels and resorts manicure the cliffs to make it more comfortable for water access and sunbathing.  Negril is popular for snorkeling with fish, coral, and colorful underwater plants EVERYWHERE (assuming you're wearing a mask!).

Negril is a tourist town is quite different from more rural towns. For instance, prices are slightly higher, transportation is always available, language is slightly clearer, convenience is easy, and a variety of food, goods, people, and places is everywhere.
