Jan. 24 -31 2009 we celebrated our 9th annual Chinese New Year with 7 nights of fantastic live music and events in magical tropical settings:
Cliffside Welcome Jam with Special Guests kicked off the week's events at Negril Escape!
Reggae Pon di Rocks Concert at Alice's Restaurant blended Jamaican and International artists on the same stage to celebrate the musical heritage of Reggae!
New Moon Pickin' Party took place at a private lagoon with CHNY musicians' campfire jams, fire performers, a dragon dance, and a giant burning Ox
The Big Time Jammy Chinese New Year Extravaganza featured
performances by international artists, fire performers, drummers, drumming, a Dragon Parade, kid performances, and many other surprises!
2nd Annual Friends of the West End Kids Fair was a HUGE success!
West Haven Children's Home for the Disabled CHNY Musician Concert deep in the beautiful mountains of Jamaica surpassed expectations. 60 volunteers and musicians participated in this beautiful event.
Triple Donation Drive with Little Feat and Bob Weir and Rat Dog to bring art, music, play, and school supplies to disadvantaged youth was very successful. For a summary of the donation drive check the CHNY message board.
The Gathering of the Peacemakers: One Love Reasonings with the Roskind Family and Rasta Elders from Rasta Heart: A Journey Into One Love
held a series of Reasonings with the local community!
